Interested in Becoming a 2013-2014 Pre-Med Club Officer??

Hello everyone,
 
We need to vote for next year's officers for the Pre-Med Club.  Instead of having a meeting, we are going to do online voting so you all have a chance to vote for who you would like to fill each position.  If anyone is interested, in becoming an officer, please respond to premed@css.edu and put which position you would like to run for and why.  We would like you to include your name, year in school for 2013-2014 school year, major and why you want to run for the position you are interested in.  Please send this information by Monday April 29th.
 
Here are the positions:
 
Co-Presidents (2): As co-president's you are in charge of finding speakers for the meetings, organizing and arranging those meetings, passing on useful information to club members, setting up highway clean-up, presenting budget requests to senate, and working with Pre-Med Club Advisor to facilitate effective club opportunities.
 
Secretary (1): Take "meeting minutes" or notes at every meeting and gather information from the meetings to pass on to the other members via e-mail, blog and Facebook.
 
Treasurer (1): This position is in charge of the finances of the club.  They are in charge of collecting t-shirt money, getting snack for the meetings, and making sure that reimbursement forms are completed and keeping the budget in line.
 
Publicist (1): You are in charge of updating and organizing the Pre-Med Club blog. You are also in charge of putting information about meetings and resources on Facebook and sending out e-mails to the club members.


**If you are not interested in running for any of the positions, please look for an email with the voting ballot attached so that you are able to cast your vote on who will become next year's officers!

Upcoming Meeting!

The Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine, or WARM, is a new four-year medical degree program from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.  With a rural emphasis on the standard MD curriculum, it's goal is to improve the supply of physicians in rural Wisconsin and improve the health of rural Wisconsin.  Come to the meeting and listen to Dr. Crouse talk about this new and exciting program.
The meeting is on Monday, April 15th at 4 pm. in Science 3211.

Pre-Professional Fair at UMD

Pre-Professional Graduate Exhibition Fair at UMD
 
 Tuesday, March 26th  from 10am-3pm
Kirby Ballroom, UMD


Undergraduate students and professionals are invited to learn more about graduate programs in: Chiropractic, counseling, Communication & Speech Disorders, Dentistry, Law, Medical School, Nursing, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Psychology, Veterinary Medicine.


-The Fair is open to the public and goes from 10am-3pm in the Kirby Ballroom.
-The cost is free, but a college transcript is required for entrance. 
-Professional dress code will be enforced.
-Parking will be available in the pay lots throughout the campus.

Volunteer Opportunity!


Join the Swab Mob! 
 
Help register people to be on the National Bone Marrow Registry List at CSS's Fifth Annual Bone Marrow Donor Registration Drive on
 March 22nd
 
       As a volunteer you will help register donors by: Performing a quick medical eligibility screening, assisting them with filling out a registration form, and assisting them with doing a quick cheek swab.
     
  Remember: This counts as volunteer hours for future applications!  Also there will be informational meetings prior to March 22nd where you can sign up for specific times and learn more about what you will be doing!
